Our Beliefs

The Bible

The Bible is God’s Word to us. We speak where the Bible speaks and silent where the Bible is silent. It is the supreme source of truth for the Christian living. Inspired by God and the truth without any mixture of error. The sole authority.

God

There is one God. He is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He eternally exists in three personalities: The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit. He is perfect in His many attributes of holiness, love, power, knowledge, justice and mercy.

Genesis 1:1, 26, 27; 3:22  |  2 Corinthians 13:14  |  1 Peter 1:2  |  Matthew 28:19  |  Psalm 90:2

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Born of a virgin conceived by the Holy Spirit, God becoming man to live among men a sinless human life, offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. Arose from the dead at the third day to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and promised to return again.

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is equal to the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation thru the obedience in the Gospel of Christ and thru baptismal. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. As Christians we seek to live under His control daily.

Eternity

Humanity will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through salvation by Jesus Christ. To be eternally separated from God is eternal death in Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life in Heaven. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.

Salvation

To embark on the journey of salvation, one must first heed the Word of God, for faith is born from hearing His message. Belief in Jesus as the Son of God is paramount, as He offers eternal life to all who trust in Him. Repentance from sin is essential, as we turn away from our old lives and embrace the newness found in Christ. Confession of Jesus as Lord, coupled with heartfelt belief in His resurrection, seals this bond of salvation. Finally, baptism, symbolizing our participation in His death and resurrection, adding us in to his kingdom (the church) marks the beginning and we walk in the light of His grace, guided by His Word and Spirit.

Baptism

Baptism is an act of obedience in following Jesus for those who have believed the message of the gospel, repented, and confessed Christ as Lord and Savior. Baptism has a great deal of spiritual significance because it is a picture of death and resurrection. Baptism literally means “to be immersed” and we fulfill our role in obeying Christ through the physical act of baptism in water by immersion.
